I am beyond excited to share a major update on our home-building adventure. If you’ve been following along, you know that this project has been so fun but also filled with countless decisions. I want to talk about one of my favorite elements of our new home—the kinds of marble we chose throughout.
When we started planning our new home, we knew we wanted it to feel luxurious yet welcoming. Marble has always been a favorite of mine, and I wanted to incorporate it thoughtfully to elevate our spaces. The challenge was picking the perfect types that would not only look amazing but also suit the functionality of each room.
After a LOT of research and some fun trips to various marble suppliers, we finally settled on these gorgeous options:
My Office & Kitchen – African Calcutta
For my office and kitchen, I fell in love with African Calcutta. This marble is a showstopper with its creamy white background and bold, dramatic veining. It gives both spaces a classic, timeless feel while adding a touch of elegance. Plus, it’s incredibly versatile, working beautifully with both modern and traditional decor elements.
Bo’s Room – Shadow Storm
In Bo’s room, we decided on Shadow Storm. This marble has a softer, more ethereal look with its subtle gray veining set against a pristine white backdrop. It’s serene and calming, making it perfect for a space to relax.
Morning Bar & Bunker – Midnight Marquina
For the Morning Bar and Bunker, Midnight Marquina was the obvious choice. This marble has a deep, rich black base with striking white veining that adds drama and sophistication. It’s perfect for those areas where we entertain guests and want to make a bold statement. The contrast is simply stunning and never fails to impress.
